The Shares tab enables users to share the well-architected review with AWS accounts or specific users by entering the associated 12-digit AWS Account ID. Sharing grants access to the review questions, answers, and findings, allowing AWS or other stakeholders to view the assessment details. This option is typically used when submitting the review to AWS or collaborating with other teams.

A workload is created in MontyCloud DAY2 platform within a MontyCloud-owned AWS Account. To review a workload in the AWS console and share the workload, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Shares tab, select Share Workload.

  2. The Share With dropdown list provides the following options to share the workload:

    1. A Connected AWS Account - An AWS account that is already connected with MontyCloud, allowing direct sharing of the review and seamless access to findings and reports.

    2. Other AWS Accounts - Any AWS account not yet connected to MontyCloud; sharing requires entering the 12-digit AWS account code to grant access to the review.

    3. IAM Users - Individual AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) users who can be granted access to the review, enabling specific people within an organization to view or collaborate on the assessment.

  3. Select the Access Type - The Workload can be assigned with either a Read-Only or a Contributor access.

  4. Select Share Workload > Confirm.

Note: Sharing the workload generates a Share Invitation that must be accepted from within the Well-Architected Tool in the AWS Console in the account it is shared, and the Workload will appear in the list.
