MontyCloud DAY2 Cost Management capabilities help analyze AWS spending patterns. This helps identify trends, optimize costs, and make informed financial decisions for cloud resource management. The following are the key capabilities of this feature:

  • Breaks out AWS cloud spend trends at the account, service, and regional levels.

  • View analysis in specific categories - Spend Dashboards, Spend Analysis, and Spend Breakdown views.  

  • Enables visibility into historical cloud costs and trends to optimize cloud expenses.

  • Enables filters and analytics to track and improve cost efficiency.

MontyCloud DAY2 Platform takes around 24 hours to retrieve cost information from accounts that are newly connected to the Tenant. The Cost Data tab provides comprehensive analysis using the following three tabs:

  • Spend Dashboard: This tab provides a snapshot of comparative costs between the current and previous monthly costs including historical costs, top five accounts, and top five services. This dashboard aggregates data from multiple management and linked accounts. 

  • Spend Analysis: This tab enables analysis over a selected time range and applies filters for specific accounts, regions, or charge types. It provides detailed insights into total costs, highest and lowest spending, and cost breakdowns by account and associated services within a chosen region. Data can be displayed for any period between 7 days and 24 months.

  • Spend Breakdown: This tab allows you to drill down into specific accounts within a selected time range to identify resources driving cost spikes. It helps isolate the exact source of increased spending—a capability not even available in AWS—making it highly valuable for cost analysis.
